Beauty fan snaps up make-up sets for 49p each in Superdrug

A BEAUTY fan received backlash online after sharing her haul of 49p make-up palettes from Superdrug, with people branding her ‘selfish’.

The buyer stopped at the Bristol branch and saw the sets on sale for less than 50p, so he grabbed a cache for his friends and family.

She shared photos of her incredible find with Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK on Facebook, saying, “I can’t believe my luck, in the right place at the right time! 49p each @Superdrug.”

But instead of praising her bargaining skills, fellow shoppers accused her of being “selfish,” claiming that they would never be able to find deals in the store because of the people grabbing them all.

More than 1,000 people have responded to this post and one woman said: “Why does everyone encourage wiping the shelves!? I was always taught to share the joys.”

Someone thought: “Now this is the reason so many others can never find a good deal.”

The third considered: “I think the store should limit these daft reductions, I’m all for getting a bargain but leave some for others ! but if greed is your forte, then enjoy ! lol.”

This person commented: “No wonder no one else can get any you’ve bought half the shops stock of them by the looks of things. Proper jel.”

Another added: “No wonder there’s nothing left.”

She said sharply: “I don’t even wana justify myself but for all you negative Nancy’s, this is for Christmas and for some of my friends who need a pick me up.”

“Knowing I’m going to put a smile on their face makes my day & if you were me you would of done the same – if you say you won’t, you’re lying.”

“Getting a bargain makes me feel so good why you trying to ruin it ? If it makes you feel better go for it, sad really.”

“Also this is a bargain page so if you don’t like it & going to be green eyed, it’s probably not a good page for you. Have a lovely day.”

Other fans on the same page also shared their tricks, with another buyer, who said, “Superdrug has huge sales on all of these items at 49p each!

“I got £189 worth of stuff for £9 this revolution set alone is normally £20 each! This is the Basingstoke branch.

“A lot of people are saying it’s a waste of time, yes it is all out of stock online but it was all in the store!”
